From Dr. Matthews:
"Welcome to our Women's Group for Health practice! I am excited to see you in the office to get to know you and help you achieve your health goals. I am committed to listening to my patients with empathy and care. I have been in clinical practice since 2003. I am passionate about providing patient centered evidence-based care for teens, adults and seniors.
I am skilled at providing gentle PAP smears; diagnosis and management of HPV associated cervical dysplasia and abnormal PAP smears; diagnosis and management of all vaginal and vulvar infections and skin conditions; and obtaining a careful family history to identify women at increased risk of breast cancer to provide enhanced screening protocols and genetic testing.
I am committed to helping all my patients achieve their family planning goals. I provide all forms of contraception to teens and adults including birth control pills, patches and rings, all IUD's, Nexplanon. I perform laparoscopic tubal ligations for those patients who desire permanent prevention of pregnancy.
I am passionate about assisting my pregnant patients feel supported, informed and confident in their journey to a heathy pregnancy and safe delivery.
I offer a full range of surgical procedures, focusing on minimally invasive procedures, to assist my patients in diagnosing and managing common but troublesome benign gynecologic conditions such as endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding due to fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometrial polyps and abnormalities of the endometrial lining. I am skilled at operative hysteroscopy using MyoSure and TruClear to remove thickened endometrial lining, endometrial polyps, and submucosal fibroids. I perform diagnostic and operative laparoscopy for evaluation and treatment of pelvic pain and painful cycles. I am skilled at robotic surgery on the DaVinci platform for minimally invasive management of benign adnexal masses, removal of fibroids (myomectomies) and hysterectomy. I am excited to offer the Acessa procedure, which is Laparoscopic Radiofrequency Ablation (Lap RFA) of fibroids. This is an outpatient minimally invasive surgery to deliver heat directly into a fibroid in order to treat the tissue and in turn, relieve your pelvic pain and bleeding.
I look forward to meeting you!"
